AREAS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

·         Co-founder and Vice President of Midland Engineering, Ltd.  The firm does engineering consulting for the chemical process industries and related fields in the areas of Process Engineering, Safety and Loss Prevention, High Purity Water, Project Management and Process Control.

 

ENGINEERING AND ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT

·        Vice President of Midland Engineering.  Primary contact for all Process Engineering done by Midland Engineering.  Assignments have included pharmaceuticals, plastics, agricultural chemicals, ethanol production, and competitive assessments.

·        Technology Director for Membrane Manufacturing, FilmTec Corporation (a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow Chemical).  Managed all aspects of technology development for manufacturing plants in Minneapolis and Nakskov, Denmark.  Served as the manufacturing interface with R&D.

·        Director of Engineering for Dow Environmental, Inc. (formerly AWD Technologies), a start-up environmental engineering venture.  Established comprehensive engineering practices for the corporation.

·        Section Manager for Process Engineering.  Supervised twenty engineers responsible for process design and plant improvement including facilities for absorbent polymers, pharmaceuticals, oxides and oxide derivatives.  Designs consistently met all capital, schedule and operability goals.

·        Section Manager for Brine Chemicals.  Supervised eleven engineers providing production support engineering (manufacturing improvement and process engineering) for Brine Chemicals Manufacturing.  Achieved 15% yield increase in bromine manufacturing.

·         Process Engineering Project Manager.  Led design of a world scale chlorobenzene facility.  Project completed on time and within budget.  Plant achieved design capacity on schedule.  Pioneered the use of critical path techniques for project management within Dow.
